Here at Anara Publishing, we’re proud to announce the signing of Taylor Waters. Hailing from Quesnel, BC (Canada). Taylor grew up in a musical family and was encouraged from a young age to take up different musical talents, from singing and songwriting to learning the guitar and piano.
From the age of 12, Taylor was crafting her songs which she later performed at local community events.
From developing her vocals in gospel music in the church, it wasn’t until she moved to Vancouver, that she delved into the rhythmic and emotive complexity of contemporary R&B music. She’s stated that she’s inspired by artists such as The Weeknd, Mahalia, and Brent Faiyaz.
In 2019, Taylor signed with an indie label and released her debut single Little Sister which gained over 150k streams on Spotify and was featured in several editorial playlists such as Indie Pop Chill Out, Chilled Pop Hits, and Fresh Finds: Poptronix. Her next single Patiently was played on CBC Radio and cemented her presence in the indie music scene.
Taylor’s first independent release, No Excuses, found its place on Spotify’s Indie Pop ChillOut editorial playlist, which started the next chapter in her career.
Since the start of her music career, Taylor has allowed her music to evolve, and grow as an artist. Her music today beautifully blends R&B and lullaby pop, with powerful lyrics that are unapologetic, a sound that she has uniquely crafted for herself.
Of the signing, Taylor says “As an independent artist, finding the right opportunities can be a challenge, which is why I’m so excited to be working with Anara Publishing. It’s been a dream of mine to have my music placed in film, TV, and other media, and partnering with Anara makes that dream feel within reach. I’m really looking forward to what we can achieve together!”
We’re excited to work with Taylor and support her through her career growth and international presence. Welcome to the Anara Publishing family!
