Ankit Shrestha is the latest signing to join the Anara Publishing roster. Inspired by Bon Iver, Shakey Graves and Joni Mitchell, the Nepali singer songwriter has travelled the world showcasing his music to the purest form, busking with his electric guitar and amp.
He is already a rising star in his home country (Nepal), having sold out shows and accumulated millions of streams on his previous releases. His songs are melancholic, easy to listen to, and have a visual identity that complements his storytelling. With popular releases like, Yadhaaru (4M streams on Youtube) Sullen Shade (45k streams on YouTube), Oh Love (37k streams on YouTube) he’s considered one of the most genuine voices in the Nepali indie music industry.
Discussing the signing with Ankit, he said:
