After meeting Eljuri‘s team at WOMEX 2017, Anara Publishing is delighted to announce that the prolific singer-songwriter and guitarist has joined their roster. This sees her two albums “La Lucha” and “Fuerte” represented in a worldwide publishing deal.
Born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Cecilia Villar Eljuri was raised in New York City. Eljuri’s music navigates through landscapes ranging from rock and pop-punk, bolero, reggae, and Afro-Cuban rhythms. This is all presented with an elegant and empowered female voice. Touted as one of the best Latina electric guitar players in the world, Eljuri was named to the Gibson Family of Artists in 2008.
Eljuri said of the signing “Songwriting is my life and music is the air that I breathe. I am thrilled to join the Anara Publishing roster and to connect with an organization that demonstrates passion in the power of song.
