Mumbai based songwriter Murtuza Gadiwala is the latest signing to join the Anara Publishing roster. Having made his start by working on OST’s for multiple short films, in 2020 Murtuza entered the commercial pop world with the release of his debut single ‘Farq Hai’, a collaboration with Lakshya Bhatnagar.
Since then, a stream of releases have followed including ‘Mera Parinda’ and ‘Mehfooz’ and an EP is in the works to be released later in 2022. So far, Murtuza’s music has reached over 150k monthly listeners with support from the likes of Spotify, Apple Music, JioSaavn and Resso. Anara Publishing are working with Murtuza worldwide to bring his music to new audiences as well as looking for further collaboration and sync opportunities in the Indian market.
Murtuza said of the signing “I’m looking forward to my signing with Anara and everyone from the team is super supportive and motivating. 2022 started off with the releases of multiple songs I worked on and at this point in my career, Anara can help me push my music beyond just the streaming platforms which is really crucial for me as an artist. Other than that, they are always open to helping me collaborate with likeminded artists who suit my vision and that’s something I am always on the lookout for.”
Deepa Seshadri, Head of India for Anara Publishing, added “Murtuza came to us through our association with Lost Stories Academy. We are happy to be able to provide an opportunity for him to further hone his songwriting skills. He is a wonderful songwriter and I think we’ve lucked out on signing him early in his career.”
